22 February 2023 Introducing the SAIA PrivySeal & digital certificates SAIA Board Signed Sealed Delivered The South African Institute of Auctioneers (SAIA) has introduced its PrivySeal initiative that provides its members with a digital stamp and certificate indicating that entities adhere to the code of conduct set forth by the institute to reassure the public of trustworthiness. “Being able to tell whom to trust, especially virtually (digitally), can be tricky business. That’s why SAIA launched the PrivySeal. The digital seal and certificate are used to reflect the entity’s information in real-time. It’s all about promoting people with genuine skills and helping them participate in a trusted global network by making them visible,” says SAIA National Manager, Sonja Styger. Leading academic institutions, industry regulators and associates have been making use of PrivySeals to inform the public of the legitimate dealings of members and their licensing authenticity. The seal is designed to protect members and the public by establishing deals with Bonafede registrants in good standing with the organization. “The PrivySeal also motivates members to update contact information regularly and remain compliant. The PrivySeal can automatically be revoked if a member does not adhere to the SAIA code of conduct” Sonja adds. The digital accreditation seal only reflects valid information and can be found on a member’s website, email footer, social media or via a QR code that points directly to an auctioneer’s real-time SAIA PrivySeal.
