Aucor Cape Town continues to grow
Meet Machiel Adendorff
Where the excitement of bidding meets the thrill of acquisition, that is where you will find Machiel Adendorff of Aucor Cape Town, one of the best-known figures in the industry in Cape Town, with a career that spans more than three decades.
As the official auctioneer of Aucor Cape Town, he fondly remembers where his career began with Standard Bank, overseeing the management of repossession centres. He later moved to Burchmores in Cape Town and rose through the ranks to eventually assume the role of an auctioneer. "I've been around the auction industry for about 30 years," Machiel reflects, underscoring his deep-rooted connection to the trade.
During this time, he has witnessed Aucor Cape Town’s transformation when it was acquired by its current owners nearly 15 years ago. He has been an integral part of Aucor for seven of those years, lending his expertise and passion to the organisation. "My favourite part of being an auctioneer is seeing the joy and happiness of buyers when they are successful in purchasing an asset as this encapsulating the essence of my profession.”
Drawing inspiration from industry stalwarts like Darryl Jacobson and Keith Green, Machiel has honed his craft over the years, embodying the ethos of excellence and integrity. Despite facing challenges such as a relocation to Belville South and then back, as well as the seismic impact of COVID-19, Aucor Cape Town has persevered, adapting to the digital landscape and emerging stronger than ever.
The company specialises in movable assets ranging from motor vehicles to electronics and caters to a diverse clientele across the Western Cape and Port Elizabeth. The company's expansion plans, coupled with the recent establishment of two retail stores, underscore its commitment to innovation and growth. Aucor has evolved into a comprehensive auction authority.
Machiel continues to build on a legacy built on trust, reliability and unparalleled service, and Aucor Cape Town epitomizes the essence of auction excellence with every hammer fall.
